I cant describe to anyone how terrible I felt when I discovered that my credit card has been stolen, my purse and wallet that was inside has been stolen as well and that is not the worst part. Using more than one card, in chip and pin form, made me writing few numbers on a piece of paper I kept in my wallet, just to make sure never to forget them, thus to avoid trouble explaining that I didnt steal them , cards are mine, but I just have a short memory problem. That is the reason I kept my numbers safe, but now after my bag has been stolen I cant say that there is a safe place for personal assets. I ran to the bank to report stolen cards, I came just on time, otherwise who knows what will happen. From that day I no longer keep more than one card with me and number written on a paper I always keep home. How can I protect my credit/debit cards?

You cant be certain that this thing cannot happen, always remember to be careful when use your card in shops, banks, you never know who is behind you, hide your pin when theres someone near to you, never keep your pin with you or in glove compartment in your car, never leave your cards unattended, dont give to relatives and friends, keep your statements until the end of the month, so any irregularity can be checked in banks. Before you throw away papers that contain your personal information about you, tear or burned them. If you want to be extra careful you can insure all your cards for a small annual premium, so you can fully be protected from fraud or any illegal action, and annual cost will be approximately 15- 20.
