| Hello there Alice. Well, here’s the thing. Copyright infringement is violation of copyright law. As you probably know, products of authors such as movies, music, literary works, and academic research are protected by copyright laws. It means that they cannot be used or distributed without the permission of the author and/or proper compensations. When something like that happens it is called piracy. You can find pirated music, software and other works. Copyright infringement brings heavy consequences to the violators. There are several legal sanctions, including imprisonment.
