Removing a name from a mortage

| Is it possible to remove my name from the mortage? I want it to be removed since I am not in a relationship with the man I took the mortage for the house and I wouldn’t like paying off fall on me if it happens that he couldn’t pay. He stays in the house so I don’t see why my name should be associated with it any more. |

| Be careful and check as soon as possible with the lender if it is possible that your ex boyfriend assumes the mortage. If it is possible you have to check if he is capable to qualify to do so. But it depends on how many mortages you two took. I dont think it would be such a big problem just consult with some mortage broker to see where you stand. |
