Dear everyone. Can I bother you with a little query? I am a bit tired and unable to think much these days, so I thought I would put it to you all and hear what your replies are. I am thinking about getting into a limited partnership, as a limited partner. But what are the rights of the limited partner? Should I go for it?

Oh, hi there, nice to see you again! So you are thinking about entering into a limited partnership, are you? That's nice to hear. You will have the right to participate in board meetings and that kind of thing, and to get part of the profits as agreed beforehand, of course. It's a nice and easy thing, basically, not too much hassle. Unlike when you would be a general partner. Good luck with it all!

I am always surprised at the amount of people that seriously thinking about entering into business options that they know so little about! Even being a limited partner is a very serious move, and an investment that will not always pay off. I strongly advise you to get more informed before accepting a position like that, or you may regret it later on...
