| My wife and I bought a house few years ago, and we decided to sell it and buy a bigger house. We don’t have much money and we’re considering the idea of selling the house on our own, without agent’s help. I believe that this could save us some money and allow us to invest more in our new house. Are there some possible problems I should consider when selling a house on my own? |

| It sounds like quite brave idea; I never met someone who sold a house without agent or a solicitor. But, I think that it is possible, only the fact is that you should be extra careful with so many things. First, you should advertise well, house cannot be sold just by thinking of selling; someone has to hear somewhere that there is a house on the market. The question is how to do this; the problem is that serious buyers always contact some estate agency and rarely read ads in a newspapers. Try talking to some friends; they might know someone who’s interested in buying a house. Also, you should consider some legal help, where money is the issue there are many people unwilling to transfer the money without valid legal paper. Good luck! |
