| I would like to know more about stamp duty in case of transfer of deeds between husband and wife. My friends have told me that I wouldn’t have to pay any stamp duty, but my husband thinks differently. I will probably have to find someone with some knowledge in this field. Is there a way to avoid paying stamp duty? |

| I’m no solicitor but I think that considering the fact that this is done between members of the family, there is no applicable stamp duty. However, I red somewhere that it might be different but to a certain limit. I’m not sure how this exactly works, but family members are generally exempt from most of the taxes, so I believe that Stamp Duty is also one of them. My advice to you is to contact someone with experience in this field, just to be sure that government won’t ask for money afterwards. |
