Hello, guys. I am moving to UK very soon since I intend to live there. I must buy a house there and my friend told me I had to pay Stamp Duty land Tax. I would like to find out something more about that. What is it? I will appreciate all your help you give me.

Hello. Stamp duty land tax (SDLT) is derived from stamp duty. It was introduced in 2003. It isn’t a stamp duty. You must pay SDLT when you buy flats, houses, building and land in UK. There are two categories of SDLT. One category is when you buy premises or land. The other category is when you lease them. You can find some websites where you can calculate it. I hope I’ve helped you. Good luck!
