Does the debt bondage of children still exist? I have been reading some materials on the net about it, and I was really shocked with terrifying stories I have found there. Are there still such cases in the modern world? If there is someone who knows a bit more about it, I am looking forward to hear it

Hey there. I think that debt bondage is considered as modern slavery nowadays. Unfortunately, I think that kids are still involved in this kind of slavery, working most often for almost no payment. I have heard that this is very widespread in Pakistan for example, where there are around 20 million bonded workers, among which 7.5 are kids. The situation is similar in India and in Bangladesh too. I do not know about developed countries, I think that this is not very common because it is strictly forbidden by law. I hope I explained it a bit

WoW! Poor kids, this really seems very shocking to me. After I have read your post I have been doing some reading again, and found out some info about it. For example, I realized that some 496,000 kids are in debt bondage, or in slavery if you prefer in Bangladesh. By the anti slavery wars, children work in order to repay their parents debts is considered as the worst form of child labor. These facts are really terrifying. Is there anyone who is trying to do something about it, who is making some effort to change things???
