| I have recently started a business in dealing with the special equipment for he disabled people. I would like to know, as I know there are some VAT exemptions, whether the equipment I will be selling can fall under that category. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, it really means a lot. |

There indeed are VAT exemptions, and you are right that equipment for the disabled category counts as liable for exemptions. However, that is not done automatically. When it comes to the equipment you will be selling, there are several types of it, not everything, that will qualify as a VAT exemption. There are some medical and surgical appliances, bed, hoists, sanitary devices, specially designed vehicles. This is not all and I suggest you search for a more extensive list at http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/
