VAT avoidance question

I would be probably penalized for not filling the form correctly, they’ll think that I meant to avoid paying tax, but that was just a stupid and no intentional mistake. What can I do now to avoid their harsh fines? How can I prove to the authorities that I had no intention of avoiding the VAT? Did anyone have similar experience?

I never had such experience but I would like to be in your skin. I heard that fines for tax avoiding are huge and that there are some maybe even worse consequences of tax avoiding than a financial one. But on the other side, there are people who do avoid paying VAT intentionally, and their scam remains unnoticed. I hope that none will notice your mistake and that you won’t even pay a fine let alone something more serious happens to you. Maybe, there is a chance for you to correct your mistake, it’s maybe still not late.
I really don’t know what to advise you, to report mistake or not, you’ll have to decide yourself.
