Hi. I am interested in buying and selling stuff on eBay. As a person who is living in Australia I am wondering what kind of implications thhas n terms of Value Added Taxes. I have understood that I simply will not have to pay this, as a non EU resident. But I am not so sure. So please explain me what the rules are for non EU sales.

| Hi. You are quite right. I have just had a look at the eBay website and ebay of course complies with the general rules on tax and everything else. For exactly this reason VAT is not part of eBay listings when you are buying. So no, you are not required to pay VAT. Good luck and have a fun time on eBay. |
