Hi everyone. Can I get some help please? It is very urgent so please reply as fast as you can. I have some debts, and the company to whom I owe the money has now sent me some debt collectors to collect the debt. What should I do now? I heard somewhere that validating the debt is one of the ways got get rid of debt collectors or at least postpone something. How does that work?

The thing with debt collectors is that they operate in several different ways. They can either make an agreement with the initial creditor, to collect the debt you own to them on their behalf. Or alteratively and in many cases much more dangerous, they can actually BUY the debt off off the initial creditor. Validating the debt established what you actually owe, to whom.
