| I have recently started a magazine with a friend. It is an online journal about various business aspects for small business aspects. We had 4 numbers until now and I would like to see how widely read the journal is. Is there any way to determine how often people reed what we publish? Thanks for the help. |

| Unlike the paper journals, for which it is almost impossible to determine the precise number of times it was read, online journals can be assessed on that question. There is various software that measures how many times did people logged on to the page with your journal, as well as how much time the contents have been downloaded. These are very efficient and give you a good feedback, which can be useful for making your journal even better. However, the software is not always precise, as many times universities yous the same address for many students, so if 30 people visit it and read it online, the software will recognize one entry, but not the 30 students who entered. Also, it registers a potential reader even if it only searched for the journal and entered a site, but not actually read it. However, even if it has faults, it is still very good for giving you an idea of how well you stand. Best of luck. |
