Q: Hello! After a couple of years in service, I have finally decided to establish a fund. I know, as everybody has been saying, that I should have done that some years before. Anyway, I hope it's not to late. Friends from work have mentioned something about unit funds. Basically, they say that we who are in the service can benefit most if we go for such unit funds. I would really like to find some information about them. So, I would really appreciate your answers. Thanks in advance!

A: Hello! It's good to have a fund but if you haven't had one so far, don't worry. The decision for making one is a start, to say the least. I also believe that unit funds are best solution for military professionals. I must say I wonder how the staff from the administration haven't done their job properly and informed you about it some time ago. I think that there are only two ways in which this kind of fund can be used. One is get-togethers, formal or informal ones. The other is organisational days. I think you can't use them for purposes such as covering personal costs or anything other which isn't connected to your job description. Hope you find this useful.
