| I’m supposed to take a test from finances next month and I’m trying really hard to pass it. But the problem is that there are so many terms and new expressions which I can’t memorize. And I also don’t know what exactly some of them are. For example, I don‘t have a clue what sell side firms are selling. Do you know anything about that? |

| Hm, I know that this ‘sell’ part indicates that this kind of firm must be engaged in some kind of selling but believe it or not, I have found a definition according to which a sell side firm is actually some kind of brokerage, which means that it actually doesn’t sell anything. Sell side firms have employees who are mainly financial analysts and their job is to offer consultations and suggestions regarding buying and selling the stocks on the market to firm’s customers. So, we can say that in a way those consulting firms are actually selling services and information, but I suppose that this is not what you had in mind, but ordinary, palpable goods. |
