I received my first debit card just a week ago and I didnt have a chance to use it, I dont know too much about credit or debit cards and services debit card provides and how can I use them. Honestly I was quite frightened when I went to petrol station, and had a chance to use it for the first time. I bought petrol, snacks from the shop and when I approached cashier and was next in line to pay I knew that this is just right time to pay my shopping with my debit card. I used it, everything was fine, I felt great when I walked out of the shop, and I can tell you that this way of paying your bills is a lot easier then carrying around a wallet full of cash money, thinking its never safe, anyone can steal it. I really think that this is better solution for paying in shops, chip and pin is safe, it can never be used by anyone except you, stolen is no use to no one. I would like to know if debit card can be used elsewhere. What can I use it for, does this card has a limits in services it can provide?

Debit card is similar to credit card, except debit cards use money from your existing, current account; you can use it if you have money on your bank account and works as pay as you go service. You can use your debit card for everything, for all monthly purchases, for paying bills, at ATM if you need real cash to pay for a product and swipe system doesnt exist. Debit card works like a personal check; every time you charge something it just subtract the exact amount from your bank account and even if you dont have enough money on your account to pay for purchase, some banks will allow overdraft, where they charge you with hefty fees. The only thing you need to be careful about is that you have enough money on your bank account, and not to fall bellow minimum amount you need to have on your account, some banks can charge you if amount is lower than its allowed. You can use your debit card for nearly any purchases or services you want.
