It is been a while I have this Barclays current account and I happened to use it only for several months. Anyway I first havent plan on closing it and it is been almost 9 months now I am paying its management without really using it, the thing is that my employer asked me to switch to another bank account which I did and that is why I have this Barclays current account but am not using it. Anyway I now think it is pretty much senseless paying for its monthly maintenance so I am actually curious to hear what do you need for closing bank accounts?

Well I certainly know you would have to give some explanation to the Barclays why are you actually leaving them I hope the explanation you have would fit them just ok though there is no bank that would support its customer to leave. Anyway I think you will also be asked to fill in certain forms there in Barclays for closing your account and you would also have to cancel your credit or debit card you had with them so generally you will need to change all your standing orders.
