What is so called new money used for in a Treasury Auction?

| Hi everyone. I am hoping to get your help on an issue. I have heard about some so called new money which is used in a Treasury option. I have no idea what this is, however, and this is very frustrating to me. It would be great if you would be willing to point me in the right direction as to what that is. |

| I have heard this term in passing as well. Many times, in fact, but I don't know what it means. I know that "new money" is another terms for what used to be referred to as the Nouveau Riche. But they can't be bought in a Treasury Auction I guess. |
