I am trying to work out what the best retirement strategy is for me. I know that I should be investing in some kind of private pension. I have been unemployed for a while now, and I am hoping that my new company will have a pension scheme as soon as I find a new job. But what do I do if this is not the case? What is the best current pension?
If your company has 10 or more employees, they are by law obliged to offer you membership to a stakeholder pension scheme. This is not the same as them offering you a company scheme! And let's be clear about it - they DO NOT have to contribute into the scheme although they might offer so. It might be better to choose your own scheme. For this purpose you and see an independent financial advisor.
