What is the usual amount of the commission in the property sale?

| I had been trying to persuade my wife to sell our property for days. Finally I was able to convince her that it would be the best possible decision. Now we need to hire a good real estate agent. What is the usual amount of the commission in the property sale? Thank you all for making a comment. |

| Well, it is hard to answer your question because it all depends from the real estate agent you decide to hire. Also the type of service he or she provides you with has influence on this matter as well. If you get full service you will have to pay more. So you really need to be very careful when hiring an agent. |

| On my opinion usual amount of the commission in the property sale is about 2 or 3 percent of the property value. I think that this amount vary a lot depend of the agent that you hire. That is logical, because different agents charge different commission fee. There are cases that this percent is higher. |
