What to Look At When Looking for A New Home?

| We are living in rented accommodation at the moment but soon we are planning to buy our own house. We have enough for the deposit already and I dont doubt we will get a mortgage. The only problem is that we decided we want a newly built home and we are not sure what to look out for. How do we know it will still be standing in 10 or 50 years time? |

| It is easier to check whether a older home is structurally sound and in what condition it is in. With new homes it is much trickier. Is the electrical wiring ok, no cowboy plumbing and so on? Sometimes these new houses are built on dodgy soil too. There are consultants who check for these faults. When you find a home you like, you have to undertake a serious survey. |
