What to do with debts from Previous Owners?

| We just moved in our new home. We are still unpacking, settling down. I was very unpleasantly surprised finding out this morning, that the previous owners left us a little something. A bunch of unpaid debts for electricity, maintenance and so on. What am I suppose to do with those? I am not responsible for them. |

Previous owners, never a nice memory! Well I don’t know really, try to contact them? Or tell that to your real estate agent to settle it down. The only thing that surely will not work out well is complain to the electric company. They just don’t care who made the debt, just who going to pay for it.
