What to expect when planing a house extension?

| Hi. My wife and I are planning on extending our house into our back garden. All in all we are hoping to add about 20 square Metres to our property. Now we are starting to look into the formal side of things. What to expect when planning such a thing? Can anyone help us along? |

| What to expect? Loads and loads of paperwork I am afraid. Red tape is an integral part of the building, extending or in fact doing anything to your property. And if you don't do everything according to the rules and regulations down to the small print you can expect a heavy fine and/or the order to demolish what you have built! |
