What to look for when buying property?

| Dear all. After splitting up with my ex, we sold the flat we owned together. I have now moved back in with my mother. To be honest I am very happy where I am and enjoying my mum's company. The only question is what I should do with the money I got from the sale. We made a reasonable profit although we had to share this of course. Any suggestions? |

| Don't do as the Romans do! I once found myself in a very similar situation. My boyfriend and I were going though a bad patch. He had debts from his previous relationship and the house was in his name only. In the end we decided to sell because of the debts getting a bit out of control. We then went through a phase of arguing whilst renting, and every time we had an argument we went out and spent loads of money afterwards. When the money ran out completely we split up. My advice for you? Put the money away into a nice cash ISA and leave it there until you find a purpose for it. |
