Anybody else like to barter? I think it's a blast and usually I can get a great deal that way.

Right now, I'm working on trying to get my transmission rebuilt in exchange for some computer work.

That would be a like-kind exchange no? Were you a line item on his GL?

We do this a lot at the office. Michael fixes our CPA's and two other services' computers when there's a problem, and we get our taxes done free and other stuff. I like it, it works out great.

I hate bartering.

Isn't that why we designed money, so we didn't have to barter anymore?

Also, I hate finding a "good deal". Tell me what you want, I'll pay it if I think it's worth that.

We do this kind of thing at the firehouse all the time. I help with tax related or computer stuff, and I get plumbing, lawn care, etc in return. I find its easier to do with people you know. Never tried it with someone I didn't know
