I have been reading something about guaranteed mortgage certificates recently and think that the subject is very interesting - an unusual but perhaps profitable way of doing business. Does anybody know their history? What was the first time a guaranteed mortgage certificate was issued?
I really don't know when they started using them, but it is nothing new, I know that much. for investors and the bank alike, these guaranteed mortgage certificates can be very useful indeed. Neither are they all that unusual, which is what you called them, as there has been a steady flow of transactions.
