| You will probably consider me to be very morbid, but the other day I had a close shave and I almost had a car accident, which prompted me to think about certain issues. For example, what has occurred to me is who would be responsible for my credit card debt after and if I die. This is pretty unpleasant because I wouldn’t like to burden by wife and kids for life if something happens to me. |

| Oh, I know those thoughts and worries. No wonder you are thinking about that after something as scary as a potential car crash. Everybody would be thinking about the same thing. But, first be happy that you are ok and try to appreciate your life more. When it comes to credit card debt of a deceased person, I think that there are carious possibilities depending on the situation. If you are married, then your wife would inherit both your belongings and real estate if there are any, as well as your debts. This is only fair because the person who gets something as an inheritance should accept all other obligations. But I suppose that somebody’s parents can’t be responsible for his or her debts if it is a person over 21. |
