Hi. At the risk of sounding a little stupid, I have a question for you people. I am a student and still at college. I am not entitled to credit cards yet, but I am just curious. Why are credit cards limited by dates? You know, Valid till, and then you have to get a new card. Why is that? Thanks.

Hello. I am pretty sure that this has something to do with security reasons. Both for the lender, and the user this has many benefits. This way the credit card issuers check if you still should get access to the card, if they still want to continue running the same card at all, and so on. Besides, for the users it has the benefit of protecting against fraud and theft. It is a healthy renewal I think.
