Any investment carries with it a risk in part. That is why you need to make sure everything goes as you plan, and that you make a good plan. When it comes to ensuring the value of your portfolio, you have to be aware what kind of portfolio you want to create. There are always a lot of variations in prices and trends can be pretty elusive to grasp. That is precisely why averages are so important, to help you fix a trend, at least to some degree. There are several types of moving averages. There is a simple moving, linear weighted, and finally exponential moving average. Shortly put, the main difference is various data interpretation, and to learn more about each, go to http://www.investopedia.com/university/technical/
