Why offshore banking is so safe?

| I have been told repeatedly by people that I know that offshore banking is the safest solution for many people who want their funds to be discreet. Can you tell me what it is that makes offshore banking so safe? I would appreciate some pointers in the right direction! Thank you in advance. |

| Traditionally, offshore banking was good for people who wanted to put away their funds in a safe place, without anyone else (including the tax authorities) finding out about this. Now though, the rules on offshore banking have changed and hiding money has become much more difficult. Not so safe any more, I guess. |
