| Hi. I am a 26 year old woman. I work in the civil service and recently in our staff meeting some representatives from a private pension plan came over to offer their services to our staff. We do have a civil service retirement plan, but my manager explained that he had thought that this private plan would be a welcome top up to our civil service scheme. Does that mean that my pension scheme is not adequate and that I need to worry??? |

| Probably so. People have been commenting all kinds of things about civil service pension schemes for ages now. Do you have a final salary scheme? You know that the old CSPS was much better, and that your manager is right about you needing the top up. This is not to say you are not lucky - on the contrary, the civil service schemes are still one of the best in the country. Just consider your moves and be smart! |
