Good evening everyone. My name is Terence and I would like to ask you for an advice. I have another five years to work before I reach full retirement age. Now I’m thinking about leaving it a little bit earlier. Can you tell me what is your opinion about pretirement pension? What could be my options? Thank you.

Hello there Terence. I think that those last years, when the retirement is so close, are the hardest. When it comes to pretirement pension, I think that you should calculate financial aspect of that decision. You should see whether what you get will be enough for you. How much can you get if you retire early and how much can you get if you stay on your job for those few years. That’s the best way to make a decision. Good bye!

Hello Terence. I don’t think that pretirement pension is the best choice. You simply get less money once you stop working, which is not good. But I would agree that you should check out your financial situation and see what works for you. What you could also do is talk to your employer about doing your job part-time. Nowadays, older workers perform reduced jobs and receive less money, but they still work. So, perhaps that would be good option for your.
