| I am trying to understand the way that credit scoring agencies work. In fact, my own case, I have recently manage to pay off some, let's call them fairly high debts. This was a big success for me, the final steo was closing down the accounts so it would not reoccur. Will these credit cards still affect my credit report? |

| Sure. It will take you years and years to build up a credit score you have destroyed in some way. However if you have been a loyal and good customer always doing repayments on time, I am sure your credit score is in fact better due to you holding these cards! If you want to find out for sure, why don't you get onto them and ask for your report? |
