redundant pension?

My uncle worked for his employer for over 15 years. He always loved his work and his colleagues appreciated him. But, he’s 58 years old now and they made him redundant. I have a question about his pension rights. Will this affect his right to pension; to be exact will his pension be reduced now because of his redundancy?

As far as I know this will have no effect on your uncle. There are some redundancy regulations, but I thing that since his age is 58, those rules doesn’t apply here. I believe that he is entitled to a full pension regardless the fact of his redundancy. But, just to be sure, you should go to the officials and ask them this question; it is possible that there are some rules applicable on your uncle. I think that I heard somewhere that redundancy has no affect on pension after 50 years of age.
