| I have recently got an idea to exchange the house with a neighbour of mine. It will do good for both of us, especially since I have a kid, and his district is a bit quieter. His house costs around 250,000$, while mine is 200,000$. I would like to know whether we need to pay the stamp duty. Thanks in advance. |

| Stamp duty is a tax that applies to the kind of transaction you will make, and is usually calculated depending on the overall value of the property in question. It is obligatory, and there virtually are no exemptions. You only have to know that the tax is actually paid on the more expensive property, meaning more precisely, that the tax is paid on the difference between your property. Also, if your property is very cheap, you will naturally pay much less than in the case of a luxury home. I hope you fill find some of these information helpful. |
