I have some relatives outside the States and I would like to transfer some money to them. Although I heard that offshore account can be opened by any one I’d like to find some other ways for sending money to foreign accounts. What’s the procedure? How does it work? Anyone has some tips about options?
So there are three ways for sending or transferring money outside the US (called international money transfers). Cash transfers with Western Union or MoneyGram where you can send money online or by the phone. Only I can say that MoneyGram is cheaper than Western Union but has smaller coverage of countries. The other way is money orders through postal services and banks. And the third option is banking transfers and you can send money by sending a check abroad, foreign drafts and wire transfers.
