I have recently passed sales training, and I expect to start sales business of my own. I have read about how to gain customers and clients very quickly and how to be the best salesman there is. However, I think I would also benefit from knowing what are the worst approaches a salesman could make. Any kind of information would be of help. Thanks in advance.

It is very interesting that various books and guides on sales usually include the best approaches. I agree, however, that learning from mistakes is equally good way to find out how to be successful in any business, and that is particularly efficient way of learning the sales business. When it comes to bad approaches, when you work in sales, be sure to provide all the services for the clients. If you fail in that area, there is no approach good enough that would be efficient. Also, one of the worst approaches is not letting your client to have any room to think for themselves about the product they want to buy. Do not treat them like children, only like uninformed people ready to give their money for something you are selling. Also, telling your clients that the product they are buying has any quality it really does not, or that it is better than it is. Tricking them may give you profit in short term, but speaking in a long term, the client will notice what you did, and you will ultimately lose your clients. Hope you will find this information helpful. Best of luck.
